Downtown Bethesda Real Estate
Downtown Bethesda has quickly become a destination area that is known for its great restaurants, boutique shopping, live theatre, movie theatres, easy metro access and great housing options. As recently as the early 1990s, the very popular block on Woodmont (between Elm and Bethesda) was truly still a sleepy corridor. And nearby, land that now holds popular meeting spots, was still parking lots and vacant spaces. There were very few people living in the blocks between Arlington andWoodmont and Edgemoor and Hampden. Montgomery Lane was a relativelysleepy street that was lined with small, single family homes most ofwhich were being used by doctors or lawyers for office space.
