DC Modern Luxury Homes

In a city where colonials are the style of choice, the "true" DC Modern home is a rare breed.  But those who know where to look may find themsleves in luck.  

Those considering the close-in NW DC corridor for a "Modern Estate" will typically have the best luck in Forest Hills -- where large lots (many of which back to Rock creek Park) lend themselves to more progressive architectural desires.  Another D.C. neighborhood that offers the occasional Modern Residence is Massachusetts Avenue Heights.  The closest thing DC has to The Hollywood Hills, at least in it's topography!,  The combination of large and/or sloped, private lots seem to inspire the distinctive.  And though often described more "Villa"esq, Spring Valley, DC also offers Luxury Estates with characteristics normally associated with the truly Modern home -- open floor plans, high ceilings, and open air center Atriums are quite typical.
