Observatory Circle Real Estate Market

The majority of the Observatory Circle homes are single-family Tudor and Colonial homes and estates. Upscale condominiums, cooperatives and townhomes can also be found in the neighborhood. Although many semi-detached homes in the neighborhood are available for less than $1 million, the southern tip of the neighborhood features several multi-million dollar homes. Those homes located near to the National Cathedral also have price tags that are well over $1 million. Similarly, it is not unusual for detached single family homes to cost up to $10 million.

Observatory Circle Community

Observatory Circle is probably best known for United States Naval Observatory (The Vice President's pad!) at 34th Street and Massachusetts Avenue. Nature-lovers enjoy the fact highway development has been banned within 1,000 feet of the neighborhood, which means it is surrounded by green space and protected forests. The neighborhood is also located near to numerous shopping and dining opportunities, as well as recreational opportunities at the many parks in the area. In fact, the neighborhood is bordered by Calvert Street and the 72-acre U.S. Naval Observatory to the south as well as the bustling Wisconsin Avenue to the west and Massachusetts Avenue to the northeast. So, although there are no retail establishments within the neighborhood itself, the many amenities found in the D.C. area are only minutes away.
