As the name suggests, the Sheridan Garage condominiums started off as a garage. Originally built in the 1920's, the garage was ultimately converted to a high-end condo complex with two additional wings added to the original structure.
Located in the historic town of Georgetown, the Sheridan Garage condominiums can be found just west of the Dumbarto Bridge and Rock Creek Park. Despite its premium location, the structure had remained abandoned for many years before it was purchased by Keener-Squire Properties. The conversion process began in 2002 after the award-winning Shalom Baranes Associates architectural firm designed plans for a third level and the addition of two new buildings.
Today, Sheridan Garage is home to 34 units featuring 9 to 11 foot ceilings as well as four penthouse units located on the third floor. Each unit also offers a number of luxurious features, including limestone baths, custom cabinetry Bosch stainless steel appliances, stone-faced fireplaces, designer light fixtures, hardwood floors and large Quaker windows.
Every resident of the Sheridan Garage condos also has the option to purchase a parking space in the garage, which houses 22 parking spaces, or on the surface. Those who do not have a vehicle, however, are under no obligation to purchase a parking space.
The outside of the Sheridan Garage condos is just as beautiful as the inside. A great deal of attention was paid to the landscaping, which features a lovely combination of trees, plants, stone pavers and Georgetown bricks. The area between the East Place and Courtyard buildings features amphitheater-style steps that lead to additional green spaces for residents to enjoy. Most of the units also feature private outdoor space, which is also beautifully landscaped like the rest of the property.
Of course, the great location of the Sheridan Garage condominiums is one of the greatest draws to these residences. With the Potomac River to the south, Glover Park to the north, Rock Creek to the east and Georgetown University to the west, there are plenty of recreational and cultural opportunities available to residents of Sheridan Garage. With the Redline metro only a short distance away, residents can easily access all that the area has to offer. No wonder Sheridan Garage is among the most coveted condominiums in the area!
